Set and Achieve Your Goals

Why bother setting goals if you aren’t going to go through the entire process of achieving them? Thousands and perhaps even millions of people set goals daily and never achieve them. According to the Statistic Brain Research Institute, only 9.2% of all people ever feel that they are successful in achieving their New Year’s resolution. And 42% give up after the first month. Are you one of those many people who set goals and don’t actually achieve them?

In this blog post I want to show you a proven way to not only set a goal but to also “achieve” it. I will give you a proven process that have helped thousands of people achieve the goals that they set. The process is super simple and won’t take you long to master and send you on your way to a more successful and prosperous life.

First thing you have to do is figure out what you goal is. Think long and hard about what it is in life that you truly want and desire. Is it a raise, a promotion, to become wealthy or to lose weight? No matter what your goal is you have to believe that you can achieve it.

After you figure out what you goal is, you have to “write it down“. A goal not written down is only a dream. You have to write it down so you and the whole world can see. Seeing is believing, so put it out in the Universe by writing it down.

Then you have to “break it down” into small simple steps. Think about it, people get overwhelmed with large task or goals, but when broken down to small manageable steps the task or goal doesn’t seem so difficult. For example, let’s say you want to save a million dollars, that would scare most people and some won’t believe they can and most won’t even get started. But let’s say you broke that goal down into small steps, like creating a bank account, then saving $100 dollars, then working some overtime to increase the speed of your saving. Those small steps done over and over again over time will get you your million dollars.

So set your goal then break it down. The method for doing this is pretty simple, I will list the steps here:

Google – Start with a google search of your goal. Google is written information about anything and everything you can imagine searching for. With Google’s speed and sophisticated algorithm, you are sure to find what you are looking for.

Youtube – Follow your Google search up with a Youtube video. Seeing is believing, so by watching a Youtube video of someone that has or is also trying to achieve a goal similar to yours, you will be able to see their excitement and get a better sense of what it may take to achieve your goal.

Read – It’s rare that a goal you are trying to achieve haven’t already been tried before. So instead of trying to do it alone, or re-create the wheel you can simply find a book about your goal or closely related and read about it. It’s like taking a short cut or having the blue print laid out for you.

Talk – Don’t just talk to anyone, but find others who have already achieved your goal or those who may be a step ahead of you and learn from them. Make sure you do your Google and Youtube search and read before you begin to talk, that way you will have a better understanding of what questions to ask and also to better understand where the people ahead of you are trying to lead you.

Education – After Google, Youtube, Reading and Talking, if you still feel you have more to learn then you can always further your education about your goal by taking a class, joining a webinar or attending a seminar.

After all these steps are met you will have the knowledge needed to begin your journey toward achieving your goal. Now it’s time to really get to work.

The next step is to take all your knowledge, research and task that you broke down in small simple steps and work on achieving your goal daily. That’s right, every single day you wake up you should be doing something that brings you closer to reaching your goal. If you work on your goal daily and never quit then over time you will eventually achieve any goal you set.

Your goal will be yours for sure if you follow the process that I just laid out. The only way to fail is to quit, stop and give up. If you keep going when things get tough, if you keep going even when other people or yourself say you can’t do it, if you keep going no matter what, you will achieve your goal.

One last bonus point I want to make is this: you must have “Self discipline” – Self discipline is what’s going to make you do all the previous steps. It will also be the reason you keep fighting even when things get tough or when life events get in your way. Self discipline is what is going to separate you from those that give up and quit or never get started.

Become a Lifetime Learner

If you truly want to be more successful life you have to become a Lifetime Learner. You must create a desire to aggressively pursue knowledge. Google, YouTube, Talk, Read, watch Positive Videos and further your education in specific and desired areas.

You can read a person like a book just by talking to them and then taking a look at their library of books or lack of. All successful people read books as much as their schedules allow. The average successful person read at least one book a month, unsuccessful people read less than one book a year. Reading, watching, talking and furthering your education are the tools needed for growth and prosperity but only if you use the tools. All too often people acquire the tools but fail to put them to use.

Knowledge alone isn’t power, the use of knowledge is power! I found this to be true as I went on my own personal journey toward success. I read all the books, watched all the videos, talked to a ton of educated people and even went back to school to further my education. Nothing in my life truly changed until I began to put all the things I learned into practice. After I started using my tools my life took a right turn toward the path of success.

Feed Your Mind

People don’t realize that they need to feed their minds daily just like they feed their body daily. If you are hungry for success then you need to feed your mind with positive life changing content. You should be feeding your mind daily with positive books, videos, music, people, places and things of the sort.

Many people say they are hungry for success, fame, happiness, better relationships, financial freedom and a host of other things, but they fail to feed their minds with the things necessary to achieve what they want.

If you truly want to live a happy and fulfilled life, you have to feed your mind with positive material daily. It’s a must if you are ever to have the things you want, wish for, dream of and fantasize about. Wishing and dreaming is nice but if you really want them to become reality then Please Feed Your Mind.

How to make better decisions https://darrelstinson.com/how-to-make-better-decisions/ https://darrelstinson.com/how-to-make-better-decisions/#respond Fri, 29 May 2020 00:09:03 +0000 https://darrelstinson.com/?p=123

How To Make Better Decisions

The decisions we make today can affect us for the rest of our lives. So please choose wisely. Once a decision is made there are no do overs. With that being said why not do your best to make the right decisions the 1st time around.

Sure we all make mistakes, but there’s levels to it. Some mistakes have little effect and others can have life changing effects. Whether your mistakes are large or small, why not make as few mistakes as possible?

With that being said, I developed a cheat sheet that helps me make good decisions, ones that keep me focused on doing the right thing and staying out of trouble. This cheat sheet consist of 7 simple but very impactful questions to ask yourself before making decisions. The list is as follow:

  • Is it legal?
    • If something is illegal then it’s a no brainer that you should not carry on with that decision. If you get caught doing something illegal then you could spend get in big trouble and might find yourself spending a good amount of your time or the rest of your life in jail or prison. Why take a chance like that when you can make a legal good decision and keep your freedom?
  • Is it the right thing to do?
    • We learn right from wrong at a very early age, so there is no excuse to do wrong  when you know what’s right. If you know better then you should do better.  You need to do the right thing even when know one is watching.
  • Is it the best thing to do?
    • If you’re going to do anything then you should do your best. When you spend time trying to do what’s best for you, your family, or your friends then you are likely to be making a good decision.
  • Do I have to lie about it?
    • If you have to lie about a something you are about to do or a place you are about to go, or who you will be with then it’s a more than likely you shouldn’t be doing or going where you are about to go. So keep things simple and don’t go.
  • Could it cause me problems now or later?
    • Life is full of difficult times, if your situation you are about to do will cause you trouble now or later then a good decision would be to not do it. For instance, if you were going to steal something from the store that could cause you problems before you leave the store or sometime later after being seen on video, so a good decision would be to not steal from that store. You will avoid any problems now or later.
  • Is there anything else I can do?
    • Life is full of options, when attempting to make a good decision take the time to ask yourself “what else could I do?”, this will allow your brilliant mind to come up with various options and when you choose the best option you will have made yet another good decision.
  • Did I speak to someone respectable about it, like a positive Mentor, Pastor, Parent or Role Model?
    • This world is full of good people. When you are trying to make a good decision please understand that you don’t have to make that decision all by yourself. Develop a good support team of good people that will look out for your best interest and involve them in your decision making process. They will be able to offer you input from the outside looking in as they give you support for your decision making process.
